Hip arthroscopy consists in making two or three small incisions the size of a fingernail, by which a camera and small instruments for cleaning intra articular are introduced or to correct some flaws. The use of LASER still does not show its benefits as closely as in the surgery of the knee or spine.

Osteoarthritis in the hip may result from multiple causes, such as a significant overweight, trauma, vascular factors (known to be the cause of aseptic necrosis of the femoral head) also may result in dislocations and other vascular damage as in the future may produce hip osteoarthritis. However, the most common cause seen in our service was primary osteoarthritis, meaning osteoarthritis which is caused by progressive degeneration of cartilage, as by the the natural evolution of human beings.

Hip dysplasia is a coverage defect of the joint, the acetabulum is not covering the head of the femur in the right way, this defect produces articular hip pain or stress during prolonged walking, symptoms can appear without any trauma, or after pregnancy, and is seen in young people generally.
